“ALHEIRAT” is the plural of “hayr” (هير) — and in the Gulf, a hayr is a pearl-diving bed: a specific patch of seabed where oysters grow. These beds were never just locations; they were maps of knowledge passed down by the ship captains (nakhodas), generation after generation.
